“Our National Flag has a dragon painted on it, and a dragon is the symbol of our country. Have you ever seen a dragon?”
Excited, the students replied, “No, no, I have never seen one!”
“Well, the Queen and I have both actually seen a dragon,” continued His Majesty. “A dragon is nothing but our personality. A dragon exists and lives in the heart of each one of us. A dragon becomes bigger and stronger as one grows older and accumulates experiences, and one must always be in control of one’s own dragon. I tell the children of my country to feed their own dragon. I hope you will feed your own dragon, too.” - The Fifth King of Bhutan, His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck - None

There is no walk for peace; peace is the walk. By walking, we generate peace within our body, our consciousness. We embrace and heal the pain, the sorrow, the fear in us, and that is the ground for helping peace to be a reality in the world. - Thich Nhat Hanh - None

Q: Why are the talks only 18 minutes? A: It’s long enough to be serious and short enough to hold people’s attention. It turns out that this length also works incredibly well online. It’s the length of a coffee break. So, you watch a great talk, and forward the link to two or three people. It can go viral, very easily. The 18-minute length also works much like the way Twitter forces people to be disciplined in what they write. By forcing speakers who are used to going on for 45 minutes to bring it down to 18, you get them to really think about what they want to say. What is the key point they want to communicate? It has a clarifying effect. It brings discipline. - About TED - None

Auburn Creed. I believe that this is a practical world and that I can count only on what I earn. Therefore, I believe in work, hard work.
I believe in education, which gives me the knowledge to work wisely and trains my mind and my hands to work skillfully.
I believe in honesty and truthfulness, without which I cannot win the respect and confidence of my fellow men.
I believe in a sound mind, in a sound body and a spirit that is not afraid, and in clean sports that develop these qualities.
I believe in obedience to law because it protects the rights of all.
I believe in the human touch, which cultivates sympathy with my fellow men and mutual helpfulness and brings happiness for all.
I believe in my Country, because it is a land of freedom and because it is my own home, and that I can best serve that country by “doing justly, loving mercy, and walking humbly with my God.”
And because Auburn men and women believe in these things, I believe in Auburn and love it.
